CURIOMANCERS

   Play as a coven of curiomancers working together with your personal spirit guides to help restore balance and harmony to places of generational and cultural importance. Use everyday objects - 'curios' - which your personal spirit guide will help you find, to channel your Aura and heal the breach between the spirit world, and the mundane world. 

Using various rituals, castings, and other techniques, you can communicate with the spirits who guard each special place, find out their problems and help restore balance and harmony between each spirit and the people and place it guards over.

Inspired by multi-marginalised experiences, and set against a sinister backdrop of a world afflicted by societal and environmental decay, curiomancer stories focus on the power that can be found in ordinary objects, ordinary people, and ordinary places. 

Curiomancers are not powerful heroes, they are not 'chosen ones,' they are the ones who choose to act with what little resources they have, knowing that they may not prevail against the greater evils that lurk in the shadows, but believing that even the smallest change is worth striving for...

   

 

  

 

  

This purchase contains three files:

 - the first is the 'quick-start' which contains the basic rules, plenty of tables for generating game elements, a story structure guide and prompt examples, 4 character sheets with b/w line character art which can be printed and coloured in, and one blank character sheet to add your own art, as well as a colour and a black and white printable mat to cast your curios on if you wish to cast them irl instead of using the dice mechanic.

- the second is the 'expansion' which contains more detailed world building guidance (along with mechanics for collaborative world-building), and additional mechanics for using Rituals, Potions, and Moxie.

While the Quick Start is all you need to start playing, and is ideal for a one-shot, the Expansion is better suited to groups who want to play a series of adventures with the same Coven of Curiomancers and link them together with a coherent plot / storyline. 

- the third file contains four starter /example quests / adventures which you can use 'as is' or adapt or use as templates to create your own quests/adventures. This file contains artwork by Tithi Luadthong, all other artwork is by Warm_Tail.
