MOONTOUCHED

MoonTouched is a journaling game based on the cultural tradition

of Story Keeping. Most cultures have some form of passing wisdom stories

down through the generations to ensure that vital knowledge, morals

and historical events are preserved. My own family fulfil this role and pass

the tradition down parent-to-child which is what inspired this game.

When I was about eight years old I completed my first 'Story Quest' with my father on Dartmoor.

BORN TO SHINE

You have been born into a family of Story Keepers, many cultures have them and they are present throughout history. The time and place of your birth are for you to decide.

Now that you have come of age, if you wish to carry on your family tradition and take

on the mantle of Story Keeper for yourself, you must undertake your first Story Quest, under the guiding light of the moon.

On your quest, the moon will gift you inspiration by bringing to light objects, animals, plants, tracks or other signs which are collectively called “Leaves,” because they make

up your repertoire of stories – your mental “Storybook” of tales.

Each Story Keeper has different gifts and skills and, therefore, different ways of sharing stories. Some tell tales or sing songs, others dance, paint or create recipes... the possibilities are endless. You can decide what kind of Story Keeper you are going to be. Each “Leaf” you find will have its own tale to tell – how did it get there?
